CIRCA 2014: THIS IS MY STORY
.
In 2014, I flew across the sea in a 26-hour journey to reach the city filled with dreamers, Los Angeles to pursue my passion for dance and to train in an academy. ✈️
.
To be honest, financially it was a rocky road being a young creative but I kept my hopes up and did what I was supposed to do, dance and live with my heart💛. Timberland has always been one of my favourite brand.
.
In 2014, a Timberland shoe was almost $169. I loved the shoes but it was unfortunate that I couldn't afford it at that time.
.
One fine morning, 2 days before I left LA, I was shopping down the streets of Hollywood and I coincidentally entered this authentic thrift shop with really good streetwear. As I was looking through, a man walked in with two Timberland boots and sold them to the owner.🤩🤩
.
It was spotless, it was iconic, it was their original yellow boots and it was in size 9 1/2. What are the odds!? That's my size too! I asked the shop owner if he had the price for the shoes he just received and he told me to come back in an hour. 👀
.
After roaming around with the hopes of getting those boots, I went back to the counter and they sold it to me for $30!
.
At that time, I didn't have a bag big enough to hold my Timbs, so I walked in them for an hour to the train station and flew back to Malaysia in them.
.
Till this very day, even after working with @TimberlandMY for years, those boots mean the world to me. I gave those particular boots to my father and it has always reminded me of our journey, sacrifices and accomplishment and seeing my dad wear it tops it all.
.
Thank you Timberland for the priceless memories.

What's your yellow boots story?
